Jellyblaster
Jellyblaster
I have just released a game called Jellyblaster. The idea is to blast jellyfish as they swim by with your speargun. You can tilt the iPhone to move your speargun to line up shots. Each hit gets a point and you have a time limit to blast as many of those pesky jellyfish as possible. The highest score gets saved to a leaderboard.
Here is a screen shot of the game in action;

The game is very addictive. I’ll bet you can’t just play it once!
I wrote this game and put it in the app store to learn all about the business of games. Even the art, audio and other resources for this game were created by me as part of the learning process. The development phase was the fun part and now I am learning about game promotion and marketing.
When I designed the game, I created a framework that would allow me to make a variety of games using the same base code. I figured that each game would multiply my revenue. But I discovered that just putting a game out there doesn’t guarantee sales. Getting the word out is much more important.
So I will stick with what I know and develop code. I am licensing the game code to others who are more adept at marketing and promotion of games than I am. If you would like to try your hand at selling a game without the months of design and development work, see my Game Devs page for details.
If you have any problems with any of my iPhone apps, just drop me an email and I’ll fix it or justify it and get back to you as soon as time allows. If you have any comments or suggestions I’d love to hear them as well.
